Large Jumbo Big Digit LCD Radio Controlled Digital Wall Clock, with Indoor Temperature and Humidity Display Popular for use at Home or Work, Perfect for Public Buildings, Warehouses, Shops, Restaurants, Factories, Banks, School, Indoor Sports Halls and Offices etc. where consistently accurate time is needed
Automatic time change for Spring & Autumn and automatic time checks, accurate to 1 second in 10 million years, have automatic set up for time and calendar (where applicable), The National Physical Laboratory (NPL) which is the UK's home of measurement and the nation's timekeeping. NPL is responsible for operating the national time system and making accurate time available across the UK. This clock keep accurate time by picking up the NPL's radio signal, called MSF, which is transmitted on 60KHz from Cumbria. This transmission carries a date and time code that the radio controlled products use to set themselves to the correct time. The signal is controlled by atomic clocks at the radio station and are adjusted to keep in step with the national time maintained at NPL laboratory in London.
The desk/wall clock has everything you’d want in an attractive brushed steel frame esp for those who appreciate the memory boost for day, date, room temp. The digital time figures can switch 12/24 hr mode and are large and in darker contrast for good visibility. Here lies my only niggle as part of their design includes 2 constantly flashing dots between Hrs and the Min digits. On enquiry it’s confirmed this flashing cannot be turned off and is there to assure that the clock is receiving signal and functioning correctly. So while many won’t care about this, I find it distracting and I don’t want to place it on my desk as planned. It’s fine on side cupboard/ shelf etc not in my direct eyeline and you do get used to it.
. While accepting it’s a useful function to check radio control connection and battery, why do the dots have to be so big and bright?
Otherwise I love this clock, even more than my bigger model with hands which btw has very long battery life-years! So I advise checking them regularly as corrosion can set in even though the clock is still working normally!
As described, working fine
A stylish clock which is perfect for my elderly parents with reduced vision without looking like "an old person's device"
Clock just as described and looks great.
