Easy-to-Read Colour Display

The multi-colour layout separates the different readings so you can distinguish indoor and outdoor conditions at a glance. Large digits show temperature and humidity, while the central panels bring together forecast, pressure, clock and moon phase information.

Choose High, Medium, Low or Off backlight brightness to suit your surroundings. For ongoing illuminated display use, keep the station connected to the included UK power supply rather than relying on batteries alone.

Indoor Comfort and Outdoor Conditions

Monitor indoor temperature and humidity alongside the readings sent by the wireless outdoor sensor. Temperature and humidity tendency indicators add context by showing changes rather than just the latest values.

The five-level indoor comfort indicator provides a quick visual guide to conditions in the room. Maximum and minimum records help you review the temperature and humidity extremes already measured; they are records, not predictions of future readings.

Barometric Pressure and a 24-Hour Trend Chart

The pressure measuring range is 600–1100 hPa/mb, equivalent to the supplied specification of 17.72–32.50 inHg. A 24-hour barometric trend chart helps you follow how pressure has changed over time alongside the latest reading.

Six Weather Forecast Icons and Frost Indication

Sunny, cloudy, overcast, light rain, heavy rain and snow icons offer a convenient visual outlook. Trend indicators help show changing conditions.

Forecast icons are estimates rather than a guarantee of weather at your exact location. Frost alerts indicate cold-weather risk, not confirmation that ice is present. Use actual outdoor conditions and a trusted forecast when making weather-sensitive plans.

MSF Radio Controlled Clock, Alarm and Calendar

The YC9438 uses the MSF time signal for the UK and Ireland for automatic clock synchronisation and spring/autumn time adjustment when reception is successful. Reception depends on location and interference; manual time setting is also available.

Select a 12-hour or 24-hour display and view the date and weekday alongside the weather readings. The daily alarm includes a snooze interval selectable from 5 to 60 minutes, or OFF, allowing you to choose how it fits your routine.

The moon phase display offers twelve phase indications, adding a visual lunar reference without needing a separate display.

Wireless Sensor and Flexible Placement

The included remote sensor uses 433.92 MHz RF transmission to send temperature and humidity readings to the indoor console. The stated range is up to 60 metres in an open area; walls, interference and positioning can reduce reception.

The station supports up to three remote sensors in total. One is included; additional compatible sensors are optional and not included. Follow the manual for channel selection and pairing.

Both the console and wireless sensor offer tabletop or wall-mounted placement. The black main unit has a sleek curved design and measures 167 × 129 × 30 mm. Choose a position with reliable sensor and clock reception, and test the wireless link before fixing the sensor in place.

Power and First-Time Setup

1. Follow the manual's startup sequence and fit the required sensor batteries, observing polarity.
2. Connect the main unit to the included UK power supply and fit its batteries as directed.
3. Allow the wireless sensor readings and radio-controlled clock reception to complete.
4. Set your preferred units, display brightness, alarm and snooze settings.
5. Test reception before choosing the final mounting positions.

The main station takes two AA batteries, and the outdoor sensor takes two AA batteries. Batteries are not included. A UK power supply is included for the main display.
