The YC8092 is an extra large XXL jumbo radio controlled digital wall clock with 17.5 cm time digits, plus temperature and humidity display. It is the latest official UK version from a UK based company, receiving the MSF UK and Ireland atomic clock signal to set itself automatically.
This clock is constantly receiving the MSF UK and Ireland atomic clock timing signal, so it always shows the correct time and sets itself automatically. It changes automatically for spring and autumn and checks the time automatically, with an accuracy of 1 second in 10 million years.
There are two radio time signals in Europe. MSF is used in the UK and Ireland and is transmitted from Cumbria, while DCF77 is used in the rest of Europe from a transmitter near Frankfurt in Germany. This Youshiko clock works on the MSF signal.
MSF is transmitted on 60 kHz and carries a date and time code that radio controlled products use to set themselves. The signal is controlled by atomic clocks and kept in step with the national time maintained by the National Physical Laboratory (NPL).
The screen is designed to be easy to read from a considerable distance. It shows hours, minutes and seconds in a 12/24 hour format, with the full day of the week and a 3 letter month with the year. The lower part of the screen shows the indoor temperature in Centigrade or Fahrenheit and the humidity, as a digital wall clock with temperature and humidity. Two alarms with snooze are built in.
The clock can be mounted on a wall or placed on a table using the attached stand.
Because the clock changes time automatically for the seasons, you do not need to remember to reset it twice a year.
