The Youshiko Radio Controlled Projection Alarm Clock shows the time on your ceiling or wall, so you can check it in the night without lifting your head. It sets itself using the UK MSF atomic time signal, so you never set it by hand, and it changes for British Summer Time automatically.

Feature highlights

180° rotating projection arm

Tilt the arm to project onto the wall or ceiling. Range is 0.5 to 3m, best at 1.5 to 3m. A Light/Snooze button makes it easy to use in the dark.

Two power modes

Use the UK power supply or 2 x AAA batteries (not included). The USB port charges a phone or tablet but only works on mains power. For 24/7 projection, use the power supply.

4 brightness levels

The red projection light is easy on the eyes at night, and the backlight has four settings so you can choose what suits your bedroom.

How the automatic time sync works

The UK and Ireland use the MSF signal, broadcast from Cumbria. It is a dedicated time broadcast that gives an accurate and reliable source of UK civil time.

Every night at 1:00, 2:00 and 3:00 am the clock searches for the signal. If reception fails, it tries again at 4:00 and 5:00 am. During a sync, which takes around 7 minutes, the screen and projection switch off to reduce interference, then come back on. This is normal and not a fault.

For the best reception, keep the clock well away from TVs, computers, Wi-Fi hubs and mobile phones. For projection that stays on 24/7, use the supplied power supply.

Frequently asked questions

Does this clock work in Ireland?

Yes. It is the MSF version, which covers the UK and Ireland.

Will it work in the rest of Europe?

No. Mainland Europe uses a different signal (DCF77), so this model is for the UK and Ireland.

Why does the screen go blank at night?

The clock switches the screen and projection off for about 7 minutes while it syncs with the atomic signal, then lights up again.

Can I use it on batteries only?

Yes, 2 x AAA batteries (not included) work as a backup. For continuous projection and the USB charging port, use the power supply.

Does it have an outdoor sensor?

No. It shows indoor temperature and humidity only.
