The Youshiko YC9418 combines time and temperature projection with indoor and outdoor temperature, humidity, barometric pressure and a weather forecast display. This official UK MSF version brings bedside timekeeping and local weather information together, with a wireless YC9312 outdoor sensor included.
Check the projected time while lying in bed, compare indoor comfort with outdoor conditions before heading out, and choose separate alarm schedules for working days and weekends. Manual or automatic backlight adjustment lets you adapt the display to your surroundings.
Project time and temperature onto a suitable wall or ceiling, using the projection control to rotate the displayed information through 180 degrees. Hold the projection control for two seconds to turn projection on or off.
In manual mode, turn the backlight brightness knob to adjust the screen. After dimming, press the SNOOZE/LIGHT control to bring the backlight to its brightest setting for ten seconds.
Hold SNOOZE/LIGHT for two seconds to switch between manual and automatic backlight modes. In automatic mode, the light sensor adjusts the backlight to the room: brighter surroundings produce a brighter screen, while darker surroundings dim the screen.
In bright ambient light, projection automatically switches off. In darker surroundings, projection automatically switches on. This behaviour is part of automatic mode, rather than a fault.
The supplied YC9312 thermo-hygro sensor sends remote temperature and humidity readings to the clock. The system supports channels 1, 2 and 3, so optional additional sensors can extend monitoring to other locations. One sensor is supplied, not three.
Wireless transmission uses 433.92 MHz, with a stated range of up to 60 metres in an open area. Walls, interference and positioning can reduce reception. Follow the manual for siting and test reception before fixing the sensor in place.
Comfort indicators help interpret conditions. The manual describes dry conditions below 40% RH, wet conditions above 70% RH, and a comfort indication when temperature is 20–28°C and humidity is 40–70% RH. The comfort icon may not appear when humidity is within that band, but temperature is outside it.
The YC9418 displays barometric pressure and its change trend. Select relative or absolute pressure in the settings; relative pressure can be adjusted when that mode is selected.
The forecast is calculated from changes in barometric pressure and indicates expected weather fluctuations over approximately the next eight hours, not the weather happening at that moment. Forecast indications may differ from actual conditions. Use your local weather service as the authoritative forecast when the two disagree.
Press MEM to view maximum temperature and humidity readings, then press again to view minimum readings. Hold MEM for two seconds to restart the records. Daily memory values are automatically cleared at midnight.
Set upper and lower remote temperature limits for the displayed channel, and use CH to select another channel when configuring its alerts. When a reading exceeds a set limit, the temperature and corresponding icon flash; a beep reminder occurs when an updated reading remains outside the limit.
The ice symbol flashes when the remote temperature is between −1.0°C and 2.9°C. This is a temperature-based indication, not confirmation that ice is present. A remote-sensor low battery indicator helps identify when its batteries need attention.
Set Alarm 1 and Alarm 2 independently, including their times, repeat schedules and snooze intervals. Choose Monday–Friday, Saturday–Sunday or every day to suit your routine.
Snooze can be set from 1 to 30 minutes, or OFF. While the alarm sounds, press SNOOZE once to snooze. Press another button, or hold SNOOZE for two seconds, to stop the alarm sound. If not stopped, the alarm sounds for two minutes.
Alarm volume cannot be adjusted.
The backlight and projection temporarily switch off during MSF reception. They are restored after reception mode ends. A radio search can last up to seven minutes, so a temporarily dark screen during this process does not by itself indicate a fault.
The clock automatically checks the MSF signal at 1:00 am, 2:00 am and 3:00 am, retrying on subsequent hours if needed, up to five nightly attempts in total. Hold the minus (−) button for two seconds to begin manual reception; press it once during reception to stop searching.
Keep the clock at least 2.5 metres from sources of electrical interference such as televisions, computer monitors and switching power adaptors. Reception may be weaker in concrete-walled rooms; try placing it closer to a window. Avoid leaving phones and other electronic devices beside it when they are not in use.
RCC and daylight-saving adjustment can be enabled or disabled in the settings. If you need to operate other settings during reception, exit reception using the minus button first.
If dashes appear instead of remote temperature and humidity, hold CH for two seconds to rescan the selected channel. Check the sensor channel and batteries and follow the manual's pairing guidance.
The main unit uses a DC 5 V / 1.2 A power adaptor. Its coin-cell backup maintains time when external power is disconnected; it is not a promise of continuous illuminated display or projection without mains power.
The USB interface can charge compatible devices at a maximum of 5 V / 1 A. This is not a fast-charging specification. Phones and other charging devices may interfere with MSF reception, so keep them near the clock only while charging.
The outdoor sensor requires two LR06 AA batteries, not included. Keep the indoor unit away from heaters, direct sunlight, water and cold walls.

Excellent product
I bought this as a replacement for a very old projector weather station clock from Youshiko - which tbf was still working but the outside sensor had given up finally after 10 years. And I really liked the look of the display on this one and the fact it included humidity. I've had it for a couple of weeks now and it's working well. I really like the light sensor which changes the brightness of the display. The only negative is it also switches the projector on and off, whereas I'd prefer it off. But that's a me problem because I bought a projector clock when I didn't want a projector just because I really liked this display over the others and wanted the option to dim the display overnight. And the only other slight negative, is the alarm is a bit fiddly to set but I'm sure I'll get used to it. But overall, I'd highly recommend, it looks good, works well and I'm pleased to have the outside temp/humidity available again.
Had a few of these type of clocks over the years and this one is possibly one of the best with the exception I don't know how to disable the alarm as I never use it only for time and inside / outside Temps.
Very pleased with this clock. Being able to see the time if you wake in the night is handy and it helps you see where you are going if you have to get up. It is also helpful being able to keep an eye on the outside temperature without having to stick your nose outside.
